Prayers and Stealing

Every night at bedtime I have a hard time getting Hailey to say her prayers. I eventually say it for her and she usually chimes and and repeats me. Tonight after the same battle, we ended the prayer and she said that she wanted to talk to Heavenly Father again. I said ok and told her that she needed to say it by herself. It went like this: Heavenly Father, I love my Mom I love my Dad I love Preston. Bless the missionaries. Bless President Monson. Amen
It feels so good to know that I am doing something right.
On the Other Hand:
After Ry had tucked Preston into bed, Preston called Ry back into his room. The conversation went like this:
P: Dad, I took a piece of Aunt Kate's candy
R:Did you steal it from her?
P:I cant think right now. My head hurts. Ask me tomorrow
R:What?!
P:I took a piece of Aunt Kate's candy
R:What kind of candy
P:A cotton candy piece
R:Taffy?
P:Yes.
R:Does she know you took her candy?
P:No.
R:You cant steal peoples candy. Its not nice.
R:You need to call her and tell her that you're sorry.
P:I don't want to call her. I will just say sorry real loud right now. SORRY Aunt Kate.
R:No, you need to call her
P:No I will say it real loud so she can hear me.

Hike

Dad had taken this hike about 15 years ago with Andy and some scouts. It took us about that long to find it! It was about 1 1/2 hours away and totally worth it. We went past the Indian reservation and to the Y of the Umatilla river. The hike was absolutely beautiful. We hiked through swarms of purple and blue butterflies and over little streams. We eventually turned around and swam in the Umatilla. The river was a little swift at times. I went out to help Preston and Hailey followed. All 3 of us eventually fell in. They were not happy campers. Hailey went back and sat with mom and Tanner. They were happy to throw rocks in the river and look at the tiny fish.

The Columbia

Today was so hot, but you wouldn't have know it by the temp. of the river. Beth, Jill and I put on our swim suits planning on swimming with them. It was so cold! I don't know how the kiddos went swimming.

The boys would go up and down the shore and collect big logs to build a fort. Someone would have to stand on the end of it so they could lift it onto the sand. Jill even got in on the action!

Some other good shots:

True Love

Hailey was having so much fun playing in the pool when all of the sudden she screamed. We thought that she had just gotten bitten by an ant but we ended up finding a stinger in her little leg.
Dad had just gotten home from work and was still in his nice clothes. She was sopping wet, but it didn't stop him from scooping her up in his arms. There is nothing like being comforted by your papa.

Reynolds Summer Day Camp

Today we went over to moms and had a mini summer camp. I was in charge of the craft, Beth the snack and Jill the water activity.
Craft: Tye Dying 4th of July shirts They were supposed to be red white and blue but ended up to be pink and purple. I was a little worried about what the older boys would think of the color, but they ended up thinking they were really cool!

Snack: Little pizza's made with Ritz, pepperoni and cheese & The Pioneer marshmallow treats made of Ritz, peanut butter and marshmallow's. SO so yummy!

Water Activity: Duck Duck Goose with spray bottle, Water relay with hole in the cup and high jump with the hose
Hailey was pretty funny during the relay. She was very concerned about the hole in the cup and took forever to get to the bowl to pour it out!

Can't wait for part 2 with the Reynolds!

THE WOOLEY'S CAME!!!

I could just forget about the last 3 weeks and not post anything...But it has been jam packed of fun!
The wooleys drove all the way from Arizona to spend a few weeks with us. It was so much fun. Everyday we had something planned for the kids. (all 15 of them!)It was almost like we were running a summer camp!
On this day we went to the nature trails and packed a picnic for the park across the street. At night my kids would be so exhausted, the min. their heads hit the pillow they were out.
Andy and Tim's families come in a couple of weeks. We are excited to be able to do all of these fun things again!
