Funny

Here are a few pictures that have been taken the last few days that I thought were pretty funny!

Mana and Papa Karlson came over on Friday. The kids hadn't seen them for a while. To say that they were excited is an understatement! Here they are having a little wrestling match!

Preston is now old enough to run track this year. He is so excited! On Friday we got him some new running shoes. As you can tell he loves them....maybe a little too much! He really did insist on sleeping with them!

Today I made homemade chicken pot pies (yummy). Pres and Hailey made candy cakes with my leftover pie dough. (not so yummy)

Evidently, dog water is super tasty....just ask Tanner! A couple times a day he also walks over to the dog food and eats one. Not a handful...he doesn't even make a mess. Just one. A little mid day snack. Stinker!

Washington D.C.

Tanner, Ry and I were able to visit Aaron and his little family in Washington D.C. Here were a few of the highlights:
*At 16 months we finally turned Tanner front facing...not sure if he is 20 pounds yet but awfully close. The only downside to this that he is busy looking at things and doesn't fall asleep in the car anymore!
*Was able sight see and learned alot about the history of the United States (thanks kate!).
*Ry showed me the necklace that he is going to get me for our seven year anniversary! I am so in love with it and cant wait to wear it to the Ball in the Hermiston Community Center.
*Was able to meet the Beautiful Kadence. I love her to pieces and wish she lived closer.
*Got to see Aaron and Kate be the most amazing parents. Kadence is one lucky little girl.
It was so much fun and of course went by way too fast. It was also nice to get back to Pres and Hailey. We missed them so much.

Rocks

I went to the Daisy Bucket (my favorite store) to get some pictures of vinyl that I did for them. Since we have gotten home the kids have been little monsters! I don't know why I Had to take them there today...but I did. They were so fun to be with!!! Cassandra the owner and good friend told them about a game that her daughter used to play with her cousin. They would act like rocks and would see who could hold still the longest. We had P and Hailey play it and they were perfect! Wish she would of suggested it alot sooner!

P

When we got home P's face still had a bit of the rash. It is so funny how it comes and goes. These were taken tonight. Since it has gotten better, I cannot imagine how bad it really was. He looks so sad in the first pic and I took another one with a little smile!

Easter

My parent said that while they took these pictures they would not sit still. Very typical! I love that they are holding hands! That night they went to Kurt and Susie's house for dinner and my mom gave them a little talk. She told them that they would be the only kids there, so they needed to be good! Pres said...so I need to protect Hailey? It feels so good to know that we are doing something right as parents!

Heaven!

While we were gone, my parents had Pres and Hailey for a few days. Every night included a bath in my moms claw foot bathtub. Heaven! One of the nights they ate strawberries while Pres sat up army men on the edges. Hailey even offered to scratch P's back! Pres was so sick and was the last of the three kids to get the rash. Mom said that he had it the worst and on top of it had an aweful cough and fever. Poor guy.

Instead of posting my vinyl projects on this blog I had created another blog. It is www.wordsbymarygold.blogspot.com If you are interested on what I have been doing project wise, check it out there instead!

A few Favorites

Last night I was able to go to dinner with a few of my favorite people. I am so lucky, blessed, fortunate (the list could go on!) to have such wonderful people in my life. I know that I could depend on any of them for Anything.
I was even lucky enough to get serenaded by Kelly Bisinger and our Stake President! It couldn't get any better! (Well I guess it could....Ry being Home!)

Ryans gone and so we dance

Today Beth set up a display at the school on Liberia for a diversity fair that was being held. Ryan went to Las Vegas for a crane convention, so the kids and I went to get out of the house. As we were leaving, the kids saw some Indians dressed up and I told them that after we ate we would come back to see them dance.
They were amazing! There was a beautiful mother dressed up with her 3 small children. The way that she looked at her little boy as he danced was really neat. To be able to have her children know their heritage and be part of it must be special. I wish that I knew more about my ancestry and could do the same for my children.
For the final dance the dancers picked a person out of the audience to dance with. I thought I was safe having Tanner in my lap....but I was not! I was lucky enough to be picked and danced with a ten yr old boy. Our good friend was picked to dance with the beautiful lady Indian! Ryan leaves and we go dancing!!
Just so we are clear....it wasn't a happy dance that he was gone. It was a rain dance.

My Poor Hailey

For the last 2 days Hailey has had a horrible rash on her face. That was it...no itching, no fever. Last night she woke up with a high fever. This morning she woke up with a lacy rash all over her body. I took her to see Derek this morning and he concluded that she has Fifths disease aka Parvo. You can have it for a few weeks before the rashes occur. They don't itch but can cause a fever and on top of that she has a nasty cold and cough. Derek says that the rash can last from 10 days to 3 weeks. Poor Baby!

Preston the Wanderer

When Preston was around 2 yrs old he would sneak out our front door and disappear. He would be with me one minute and gone the next. We quickly out smarted him and put a lock on the top of the door. That was the end of wandering until recently. He has four houses on our street that he frequents. I don't mind him playing with his friends....they are all good little boys. What I do mind is that when one friend cant play, he moves on to the next house. When its time for him to come home, I cant find him! How do you get into a little boys head that that is not an ok thing to do! It scares me when I cannot find him... Today I told him that if he doesn't tell me where he is, he will be grounded from his friends. That would be torture to my very social Preston!
