Life is good....

On Saturday night we had a huge snow storm. So big that church was canceled and on Monday, Ry's work was even cancelled. Our good friends across the street invited us to play cards. (I know I know...great thing to do on the Sabbath!) We always joke about how we need to dig a tunnel to join our houses together since we are together so much. Today Jason just decided to clear a path to the house instead. What great service!



We would throw the dogs their toy outside and they would get lost in the snow!

Noses

Tanner learned where his nose was the other day! You have to ask him alot but eventually he will do it.


Speaking of noses! I was putting Hailey to put and we were laying down with our noses touching. This was our conversation:
H:us noses are big
M:no Hailey, you have a cute little nose
H:(very persistent) no us two have big noses!
I have always been a little self conscious about my nose and to hear it from my sweet Innocent little girl was fabulous! I am ok...don't worry!!:)

On Saturday Ryan took Pres to a high school basketball game. Before they left pres asked ry if there were going to be alot of girls there. Ry told him probably and thought that would be the end of the conversation. When they got there he asked again! I hope that this is Not a sign of what is to come!
While at the game ry got p a pop. Not just any pop...dr pepper. He has had sips of ours but never his own. They met me at my friends play place and he was crazy. Literally bouncing off the walls! I had never seen him like that! It will be his first full pop and last for a while!

Oh what a wonderful day!!!

Great day...but I found some darn cute clothes and ry gets to come home after being gone since Monday

I really need to be more careful on what I say! This morning when Preston was having a hard time zipping up his coat I hear Hailey say, Are you Freakin kidding me?! Oh what a sweetie!

Egg hunt in January!

Ryan is gone for 4 days, its colder than freezing outside and we need something to do! So I put fruit snacks in Easter eggs and the kids went on an egg hunt! They want to do it again tomorrow night.


About 6 times a day Tanner climbs the stairs, explores for a minute and then sits at the top and yells for me to come get him! I never know that he has gone upstairs until I hear him. I really need to get a baby gate before he gets brave enough to come down.
This is where he went while the hunt was going on!

Sunday Happenings

Tonight I was putting a very tired Tanner to bed and I see his door quietly opening. In come Preston and Hailey. They sit by the nightlight and eat cookie dough from the mixer, that we had just made. They were being so quiet and Tanner didn't know they were in with us. Of course the dogs followed them and I think the jingling of their collars is what let T know that we were not alone. He sat up and looked around and let out a loud squeal. He wiggled off my lap and joined them. They all ended up in his crib. You wouldn't have know that T was almost asleep!


I think that I posted before about Hailey's thumb sucking. If not, its a new thing and I don't like it! Ryan always tells her that if she keeps on sucking it, her thumb is going to fall off. In fact the other day preston asked me if it really was going to fall off and I assured him that it never would. That dad was just trying to get her to stop.
I think that she was too tired tonight to hear this horrible news. She absolutely fell apart. What a mean mommy and daddy that she has!

Preston always wakes up saying he has had a bad dream. Tonight while putting Pres to bed, Ryan asked him what his bad dreams were about. He told ry about one that he other night:
Mommy Haily and him were jumping on the trampoline. It kept on going deeper and deeper and deeper int he ground and got filled with water and a shark ate mom then Hailey and him.
Scary!

The last few weeks

I forget things so easily. So for my sake I need to add a few things that have happened in the last few weeks that will surely be forgotten by me!

*A few weeks ago the kids and I took a trip to the Tri Cities to run a few errands. I had to go to TJ Max so in we went. I usually throw all three kids in a cart but the carts there are teeny tiny. We get ready to leave and Preston disappears. I cant find him anywhere! Well I find him when I hear a rack of shirts and pants crash down! The look on his face was priceless! Reminded me of an older brother of mine! Timmy did that wherever we went to my mom.

*I took Tanner to see Derek for his one yr check up at the beginning of January. At 13 months he weighed a whopping 16.11 pounds. Since has was already having three shots we decided this was as good of a time than any other to get his blood tested to see is anything was wrong with him. Poor little guy had his shots and had to get poked in both arms for blood. He would stop crying then look down at his arm with the cotton and tape and start crying again! Poor bugger.
We looked at his chart and since 6 months he has not been on the growth curve at all. Since he was 9 months he has only gained 1.5 pounds and since the last check up he has lost weight. We got the blood results back and he is completely normal. Developmentally he is right on target, he is just a little guy.

*The other night mom and dad were over for pizza. Mom and I had a funny conversation with Hailey.
We were asking her about how she liked to go to big girl primary.
Hailey:I go to class with my sweetheart.
me:Who is your sweetheart?
Hailey:Gunner
I like to hold his hand and kiss him on the lips. I love Gunner.
Gunner is our good friends little guy. They see each other every day and really do love each other! Today you could hear Gunner yell during sacrament meeting, standing on his moms lap, I want to see Hailey, I want to see Hailey!

Welcome to the world baby girl!

Kadance Evelyn Karlson was born this afternoon! She is the kids first cousin on the Karlson side. I just wished the lived closer! Poor Kate was a week overdue and was induced this morning. She weighed 8.10 and has tons of dark hair. I am so happy for Kate and Aaron and know that they will be amazing parents to little Kadance. Tanner, ry and I are going to visit them in March! I am so excited to meet this sweet baby.

A few new projects

My good friend Kasia is opening up a children's play place on Main, so she asked me to do the vinyl for her building. Mom and I braved the 30 degree weather and put it up this afternoon. Still need to fix a few things but here it is today!

A wall in our living room. The middle board will eventually get done. It is going to have quotes about the temple and other embellishments on it. Dad and ry hung everything the other night and I had them go ahead and hang my unfinished board too. I figure that I can add to it whenever I get a chance!

Hailey's Favorite

Every night Hailey and I read Hi, Pizza Man. She every word memorized. You would think that she would get tired of it, but cannot go to bed without reading it. Her newest favorite part is at the beginning of the book is a plate without pizza and at the end after the pizza man has come, there is a plate with pizza. I think that tonight we flipped back and forth about 20 times!

OH MY!

Let me just recap what has been going on for the last thirty mins. in my life! First off, I fully enjoy doing new things to my house. Every few weeks I get a little spark for something new to do. Ryan is used to it and is very good at letting me use my creativity.
Ok...Tanner wakes up and sits in the garage door and watches me paint. Pres and Hailey always think that it is their duty to make it a fun experience for me. (that's why I Usually do things at night) The 2 want to paint so they go and get small paint brushes and paint a root beer box. I tell them that if they get any on their clothes then they are never painting again. They are getting paint EVERYWHERE. Right about now I want to pull all of my hair out. I order them inside and tell them to wash their hands without touching anything on the way to the bathroom. Below is a pic of the bathroom...and I have already cleaned half of it up.

Of course I find black paint on the sleeves of their shirts so I whip them off. Then I then notice that their little feet are black as well. I put their feet in kitchen sink and look for Tanner. He is sitting in the family room playing with scissors! All is well with him, thank goodness. Pres and Hailey are now eating cookies so I ask them to get one for Tanner. I sit them on the couch and tell them to STAY.

Thank goodness this saved because Tanner shut of my computer mid way through!
